Horizons2020, a Siemens foresight study

The August issue of Siemens Journal introduces Horizons2020, a Siemens foresight study on European life in 2020.

Rather than attempting to predict the future, Siemens hopes that Horizons2020 will intensify public discussions and invite people to think about changes that we will face. How do we want to live in 2020? How will we study and work? What will our power supply systems look like and how will we communicate? The central question concerns how this can be accomplished. What will life be like in the future?

The study came up with two consistent and exciting future scenarios that are based on opposing principles.
